Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a lovely couple, Sothear and Chhun, who said their vows on a spectacular August day this year. They chose to celebrate their reception with us in the Harborview Ballroom with their 230 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Where are you originally from?
We are both from Cambodia originally and also from Massachusetts and Maine.
What do you do for work?
I am a realtor and my wife is a nail technician.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
We met and fell in love – as it is said “love at first sight”!
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
We chose Danversport because we fell in love with the Harborview Ballroom and the outside patio. The water views are amazing.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 230 friends and family members on our wedding day.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
We offered an open bar to start our guests off. We also had cheese boards, salads, and the main course choice of Prime Rib or the Seafood Trio.
What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
The most magical part of the entire day was the ceremony, the wedding party introductions, and the beautiful champagne toast.
Did you have a wedding theme?
Our theme embraced light summer colors to coordinate with the time of year we were married.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
We danced to Ed Sheeran’s Perfect.
Who walked you down the aisle?
My brother walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We headed to Newport, Rhode Island, and then flew off to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
