Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features Shannon and Tyler, who said their vows in September 2025. They chose to celebrate their ceremony outdoors at the Pergola and held their reception in the Terrace Ballroom and Waterfront Room.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of recent wedding experiences from those who have been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

When did you get married?
September 2025.
How did you meet?
We originally met through a mutual friend who actually ended up being our wedding officiant. Although years had passed since our last meeting, we ran into each other at the local Southie Stop & Shop. After a short back and forth, our first date was set and the rest is history.
Why Danversport?
The number one non-negotiable for both of us when choosing a wedding venue was that we needed to be married by the water. From the moment we saw Danversport’s gorgeous grounds and waterfront features, we knew this was the spot for us. The pergola’s location offered the perfect backdrop for the ceremony we had dreamed of.

A waterfront fairytale!
Tell us the most memorable moment of the day.
Our most memorable moment of the entire day was finally seeing each other at our “first look.” So many emotions and excitement during that moment. Seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day was so special. We could also see the storm rolling in, which luckily held off, making for amazing photos!
What’s a standout thing our team at Danversport did during your wedding day that you’ll never forget?
Somehow, our bridesmaids forgot hairspray. Tiffany, our Danversport coordinator, saved the day by having her own backup! She had thought of everything and saved the day!
What about Danversport wow-ed your guests the most?
Our guests were raving about all the hors d’oeuvres. The food options across the board were amazing!
What menu items or cocktails were crowd favorites?
The coconut chicken was out of this world! We had multiple guests compliment us, saying it was the best wedding appetizer they had ever had.
Did you have a theme, color palette, or design inspiration for your wedding day?
Our bridesmaids wore champagne gold and our groomsmen wore black tuxedos. Our flowers were filled with baby’s breath, white hydrangeas, and greenery! We went for an elegant-chic look, which Danversport fit perfectly.
Did you do a first look, or wait for the aisle?
We did our first look outdoors by the pergola.
What’s one piece of advice you’d share with couples planning their wedding at Danversport?
Our advice to future couples would be to “Trust the process.” The Danversport team goes above and beyond to make your day special and run smoothly.
Looking back, what’s the one thing you’re glad you did on your wedding day?
I’m so glad we did our first look. This gave us time to take photos before cocktail hour, so we could spend more time with our guests.
