Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features Alexia and Dimitri, who said their vows in September 2025. They chose the Harborview Ballroom for their reception, which would accommodate their large family and Greek dancing.
This interview series is designed to give future couples the opportunity to hear firsthand details about recent wedding experiences from those who have been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.
Responses have been edited for length and clarity.
Alexia & Dimitri
When did you get married?
September 2025.
How did you meet?
While the exact date is unclear, we met in our church community when we were very young. We grew up in the same town and attended Sunday School together, starting around age 4.
Why Danversport?
We loved the Harborview Ballroom with its floor-to-ceiling windows and beautiful chandeliers. The room was the ideal size for Greek dancing. Danversport is also a special place for us, as we attended our first prom there together 10 years ago.
Describe your wedding in 10 words or fewer!
Sentimental, fun, elegant, food-filled, and family-oriented.
Tell us the most memorable moment of the day.
The most memorable moments were a few special and personal ones: walking down the aisle to a recording of me playing the violin, our first dance, and our parents’ dances.
What’s a standout thing our team at Danversport did during your wedding day that you’ll never forget?
We were so busy dancing that we never had the chance to eat dessert. However, the team packed some up for us to take home and try later.
What about Danversport wow-ed your guests the most?
The food and the Danversport team really “wowed” our guests! We continue to get compliments about how good the food was and how attentive all the staff were to each guest. Everyone was also amazed by how many desserts there were – we did an ice cream bar and the signature dessert display and the options were endless!
What menu items or cocktails were crowd favorites?
Truly, everything was a crowd favorite, but many people raved about the lamb chops, the filet, and the dessert options.

Did you have a theme, color palette, or design inspiration for your wedding day?
Our colors were olive green, gold, and a pop of lavender. We also included olive oil bottles as favors with olive charms, so the olive theme was carried through slightly. My bridesmaids wore green and my mom wore lavender.
Did you do a first look, or wait for the aisle?
We did a first look at Danversport before going to the church and I’m so happy we did! We got amazing pictures before the ceremony. Unfortunately, it rained later in the evening, so without those pictures, we wouldn’t have had any outdoor photos. The landscape and backdrop at Danversport made it the perfect location.

What’s one piece of advice you’d share with couples planning their wedding at Danversport?
Our one piece of advice is not to stress about making sure the day runs perfectly, as the staff has it covered! Ron and the rest of the office team were amazing at helping us plan everything before the day. On the day, he coordinated everything that needed to be done without our noticing or needing to think. They are able to personalize so much and make your day special – you are really in great hands!
Looking back, what’s the one thing you’re glad you did on your wedding day?
We are so glad we did the first look, so we could get all our pictures done and enjoy cocktail hour. We’re also pleased we left the large curtains closed during our reception, which kept the dinner and dancing more intimate.

Happily Ever After
Congratulations to Alexia and Dimitri as you begin your married life together! We are thrilled to have been a part of your special day and traditions. We wish you much happiness in the years ahead.
