The “I Do” Interview: Meet Lauren & Steve

Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features Lauren and Steve, who said their vows in September 2025. They chose to celebrate their reception in the spectacular Harborview Ballroom with their friends and family.

This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of recent wedding experiences from those who have been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

Lauren & Steve

When did you get married?

September 2025.

How did you meet?

We met a long time ago in middle school.

Why Danversport?

We chose Danversport for the picturesque landscape and waterfront venues, stunning ballroom, and exceptional food and service. Coincidentally, we also attended our junior prom at Danversport 11 years earlier!

Describe your wedding in 10 words or fewer!

We would say our wedding was “unforgettable, picturesque, dreamy, smooth, and fun!”

Tell us the most memorable moment of the day.

The most memorable moment of the day was looking out from our sweetheart table and realizing we were surrounded by all the people we love most, all in one room!

What’s a standout thing our team at Danversport did during your wedding day that you’ll never forget?

Our wedding coordinator, Lauren Kane, went above and beyond for us all night! We didn’t try our welcome drink from cocktail hour, so she had one made and brought it to us at our sweetheart table for dinner!

What about Danversport wow-ed your guests the most?

The picturesque scenery and ballroom, and most importantly, the food!

What menu items or cocktails were crowd favorites?

Our guests loved the hors d’oeuvres and the Apple Cider Sangria welcome drink!

Did you have a theme, color palette, or design inspiration for your wedding day?

Yes, we used a color palette of classic or traditional-white, gold, and dusty mauve.

Did you do a first look, or wait for the aisle?

We waited for the aisle!

What’s one piece of advice you’d share with couples planning their wedding at Danversport?

The advice we would give is: “Relax, you’re in great hands!!”

Looking back, what’s the one thing you’re glad you did on your wedding day?

We were so glad we chose the raised sweetheart table for our seats during the reception! Sitting just the two of us, a little higher up, allowed us to take in the whole room and was such an exceptional experience!
