The “I Do” Interview: Meet Ani & Sevag

Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features a wonderful couple, Ani and Sevag, who said their vows on a delightful spring day in May 2025. They chose to celebrate their reception with us in the Harborview Ballroom, surrounded by 350 family members and friends, who all shared in their joy.

This interview series is designed to allow future couples to hear about the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been through them. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories, allowing others to learn about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

Wedding Date – May 2025

Event Space –  Our ceremony was performed at St. Stephen’s Armenian Chruch and the reception was at the Harborview Ballroom, Danversport.

Where are you originally from?

We are originally from Watertown, Massachusetts.

What do you do for work?

I am a Pediatric Speech Language Therapist.

How did you meet your bride or groom?

We grew up in the same community and have been friends for a long time.

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?

We chose Danversport because the Harborview Ballroom really met all of our needs. I loved that it has high ceilings, beautiful natural light, and overlooks the water, which made the space feel open and elegant. The venue itself is easy for guests to get to, has plenty of parking, and the grounds are gorgeous for photos. Altogether, it checked all the boxes and gave us the atmosphere we wanted.

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?

We had 350 friends and family at our wedding.

Did your wedding have a specific theme?

We didn’t have a specific theme, but I’ve always loved navy blue, so that was woven in along with lots of greenery. What mattered most to me was showcasing our culture in meaningful ways — we added special touches, such as our custom logo on the napkins and traditional rug designs as coasters. Those little details made the day feel personal and unique to us.

What did you offer in terms of food/drink catering?

We offered a choice of Braised Short Ribs with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables, the Atlantic Salmon that comes with creamy polenta, lemon cream sauce, and fresh seasonal vegetables or the Vegetarian plate. Explore the full dinner menu online.

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?

The most magical part was our grand entrance and the moment everyone joined us on the dance floor to celebrate. It felt so joyful and full of love — exactly how I had always imagined it!

Ani and SevagWhat was the song you danced to for your first dance?

We chose the song “Siro Yerk” by Armenian Public Radio.

What style was your dress?

My dress was a sleeveless gown with wide straps and a square neckline. The bodice was fitted, and the skirt flowed into an A-line shape, crafted from a smooth, structured fabric. The length reached the floor, creating a classic silhouette with some imprinted floral textures.

Who walked you down the aisle?

My father walked me down the aisle.

What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?

We went to Greece for our honeymoon!

Happily Ever After

Congratulations to Ani and Sevag as you begin your married life together! We are thrilled to have been a part of your special day and traditions. We wish you much happiness in the years ahead.
