Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a beautiful couple, Alissa and Victor, who said their vows on a perfect summer day in 2021.
Alissa and Victor chose Danversport for their wedding to accommodate their large, loving families. They gathered with us on a beautiful evening in July to celebrate the love and commitment that Alissa and Victor have pledged to each other.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.
Alissa & Victor
Wedding Date: July 3, 2021
Wedding Venue: Harborview Ballroom
Where are you originally from?
I am originally from Burlington, Massachusetts, just 15 minutes away from Danversport.
What do you do for work?
Like lots of people right now, I work two jobs. I am a full-time elementary school teacher and a part-time barista.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
One of my best friends from childhood was a boy named Paul. He just so happens to be a close cousin with Victor, the man who would eventually become my husband.
While I was friends with Paul since I was eight years old, I didn’t meet Victor, his cousin, until eleven years later at Paul’s college graduation party. Their family is huge and Paul would mainly get together with them during major events and functions.
During one of those special events, Victor and I sat at the same table with Paul and other family and friends. A little wine and some great conversation that night and I intuitively knew I’d marry him someday. I told my mother that I met my husband that day. We’ve been together ever since!

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
Danversport has exceptionally beautiful landscaping and grounds, perfect for wedding photos that will be cherished for a lifetime. The food is excellent and exceeded our expectations. The Harborview ballroom is beautiful and was able to comfortably accommodate our huge Italian families.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We originally planned on having 300 guests prior to the pandemic, but ended up having about 165 family and friends join us on our big day.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
For our appetizers, we offered stuffed mushrooms, spanakopita, coconut chicken, beef skewers, bruschetta nan, charcuterie options, and antipasto. We had the deliciously prepared Prime Rib and Mediterranean Chicken for our main entrees.
To finish off the night we offered the cappuccino table and the four table dessert display. Our signature drink was the sangria.
What was the most magical, moving or special part of the wedding for you?
The whole day felt like I was in a dream. All the vendors, the food, scrumptious drinks, dancing, guests, and staff came together to make Victor and I feel like royalty. Everything and everyone made our day perfect and feel magical.
What was the theme of your wedding?
The theme of our wedding was nautical and that was perfect as Danversport sits directly on the water with picture-perfect views of boats in the harbor and the sound of the lightly lapping waves on the rocks.
What type of style was your dress?
My dress was magical as well. I had a tight fitted spaghetti strap mermaid dress. It was accentuated with a long train and sweetheart neckline.
Who walked you down the aisle? Both my mom and dad walked with me down the aisle.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
We danced to a song I wrote for Victor seven years ago as our first dance. It’s called “Always” and it’s on YouTube under Alissa Mastracci.

What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
For our honeymoon we traveled to Aruba. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Resort. It’s beautiful there and the staff was amazing!
Not only was the food excellent everywhere we went but the landscaping, coy ponds, and wildlife on the resort added to the trip! If you love animals you’d love the lizards and iguanas that walk around the resort!
Happily Ever After:
We were so honored to be a part of Alissa and Victor’s wedding day. From the tuxedo-clad dogs to the incredibly welcoming family and friends, this wedding was a joy to host. We wish them best of luck in the future and many, many years of happiness together.
