Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features Heather and Jose, who said their vows in July 2025. They chose to celebrate their ceremony at the Pergola and held their reception at Lighthouse Point with a close group of friends and family.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of recent wedding experiences from those who have been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.
Responses have been edited for length and clarity.
Heather & Jose
When did you get married?
July 2025
How did you meet?
My husband believes that we were destined to be together. He explained it best when he said, “Two different paths lead us to the same time and place in the timeline of our own universe. We parted and met again, two different universes meeting again. The connection, feeling, and respect were naturally felt through the galaxy. Her eyes sparkled in the dim light, like the brightest stars at night. Time has disappeared and only life remains to enjoy.”
Why Danversport?
Like many couples, we chose Danversport because of its beautiful location. It made the stressfulness of wedding planning so seamless. The staff was also excellent to work with throughout the planning process.
Describe your wedding in 10 words or fewer!
Many words appropriately describe our wedding day at Danversport. They include: unforgettable experience, accommodation, top-tier service, and a beautiful location.

Tell us the most memorable moment of the day.
The most memorable part of the day was marrying my best friend.
What’s a standout thing our team at Danversport did during your wedding day that you’ll never forget?
Everybody was amazing at Danversport. Heather helped us move our DJ outside so we could keep the party going. Brett made sure our whole wedding party was comfortable during the rehearsal. Additionally, on the day of the wedding, Brett made sure we were all where we needed to be and that we had drinks in hand. All the attention to detail was much appreciated!
What about Danversport wow-ed your guests the most?
Our guests loved the beautiful waterfront location and the way everything was presented.
What menu items or cocktails were crowd favorites?
Everyone raved about our menu choices. We chose buffet style and all the food, especially the huge dessert table, was delicious.
Did you have a theme, color palette, or design inspiration for your wedding day?
We chose a color theme of black and pink. My wedding dress was black with rose gold accents.
Did you do a first look, or wait for the aisle?
We waited to see each other as I walked down the aisle.
What’s one piece of advice you’d share with couples planning their wedding at Danversport?
Having a smaller wedding is better and more intimate. Regardless of the size of your wedding, Danversport makes the entire experience unforgettable.
Looking back, what’s the one thing you’re glad you did on your wedding day?
We are so happy we chose to do our own vows!
If your wedding were a movie, the title would be…
Titanic, because it was epic!
What was the biggest surprise of your day?
The best surprise of the day was the first time we saw each other as I came down the aisle. We didn’t really have a plan. We just went with the flow and everything turned out fantastic.
Happily Ever After
