The “I Do” Interviews – Meet Our May Bride Heather

Welcome to the “I Do” Interviews! This month our series features Heather and Nick who said their vows on a spectacular autumn day this year and celebrated with family and friends in the Terrace Ballroom and adjacent Waterfront Ballroom at Danversport.

This bridal interview series is meant to give future brides a chance to hear the wonderful details of bridal experiences from those who have recently been there. Our beautiful brides have agreed to share their stories so others can hear about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.

DATE OF WEDDING: October 5, 2019.

WEDDING VENUE:  Terrace Ballroom and Waterfront Ballroom at Danversport.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY? I am originally from Stoneham, Massachusetts.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR WORK? I work as a Kindergarten teacher in Revere, Massachusetts.

HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR GROOM? I met my now-husband through friends at a country music concert. We went to go see Rascal Flatts. We both went with a group of friends and just happened to have an instant connection starting with our love of country music.

WHAT MADE YOUR CHOOSE DANVERSPORT AND THE ROOM SPECIFICALLY? I chose to have my wedding at Danversport because of the beautiful location and view my guests would see during the ceremony. I absolutely loved the view behind the gazebo. The room we had our wedding reception in was beautifully renovated and made us feel welcome and excited to have our guest celebrate in. We also got engaged at a lighthouse so being able to take pictures by the beautiful lighthouse on sight was perfect!

HOW MANY GUESTS DID YOU HAVE IN ATTENDANCE? Our guest count was roughly 140

WHAT DID YOU OFFER FOR FOOD/DRINK CATERING? We offered our guests a choice of filet mignon, chicken piccata, or a vegetarian option. We had apple sangria as our welcome drink of choice and we served red and white wine at the tables throughout dinner.

WHAT WAS THE MOST MAGICAL PART OF THE WEDDING FOR YOU? The best part of our wedding day was being able to capture a picture of my husband and I by the lighthouse. We had a lighthouse theme for our wedding, so we wanted to be able to capture some beautiful pictures as a keepsake. We also loved that we took a step back for just a few minutes to watch what was going on around us. It was such a special time to realize that everyone was there for us and celebrating our special day with us!

DID YOU HAVE A WEDDING THEME? Our theme was lighthouse. We incorporated lighthouses into things such as on the table numbers, centerpieces, seating chart, and décor.

WHAT STYLE WAS YOUR DRESS? My wedding dress was an off-the-shoulder style dress with a mermaid flair at the bottom. It had lace throughout with beads and sequence to show the amazing details and design. The train was a wide and long flowing lace design. Just beautiful!

WHAT WAS THE SONG YOU DANCED TO FOR YOUR FIRST DANCE? Our first dance was “Never Stop” (wedding version) by SafteySuit. My husband used to listen to the band SafetySuit as a child so finding a wedding version of a meaningful song was perfect!

WHO WALKED YOU DOWN THE AISLE? My father walked me down the aisle.

WHAT WERE YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR HONEYMOON? We went on our honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica. We stayed at Montego Bay Sandals All-Inclusive Resort. We went the weekend after our wedding and stayed for a week. It was gorgeous and we could not have asked for a more relaxing honeymoon!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

This lovely couple had a wonderful fall day to say their “I Dos.” With their theme of “lighthouse” and the beautiful waterside lighthouse of our own here at Danversport, we were able to tie it all together for this husband and wife! Congratulations and may many happy years lie ahead for you.
