Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a darling couple, Sofia and Fabio, who said their vows on a beautiful summer day in August 2024. They chose to celebrate their ceremony at the gazebo and reception with us in the Harborview Ballroom with their 200 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Event Space – We had our ceremony at the gazebo and then used the Harborview Ballroom for our reception.
Where are you originally from?
We are both originally from Peabody, Massachusetts.
What do you do for work?
I am a Senior Marketing Specialist and Fabio is a Commercial Account Manager at Stoneham Ford.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
We met in high school and were sweethearts from the start.
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
We went to prom together at Danversport so it was like a full-circle moment having our wedding ceremony and reception here! We also loved how grand/huge the hall was from the moment you walked in.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 200 of our family and friends at our wedding reception and ceremony.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
We offered an open bar at our reception as well as Crab Cakes, Caesar Salad, Short Rib or Seafood Trio, Wedding Cake, a Dessert Table, Espresso Station & Sangria Station.
What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
I was obsessed with every part! My favorite detail was that we got married exactly on our 7-year anniversary of dating!
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
We danced Da Primeira Vez by Bryan Behr & Calum Scott.
What style was your dress?
I wore a Mermaid gown with heavily beaded ivory lace.
Did you have a wedding theme?
Our wedding theme was a coastal, dusty-blue theme.
Who walked you down the aisle?
Both my mom and dad walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We went to Antigua for our honeymoon.
