The “I Do” Interview: Meet Sarina & Wilton

Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a lovely couple, Sarina and Wilton, who said their vows on a beautiful spring day in May 2022. They chose to celebrate both their ceremony and reception with both us and 120 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.

This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

How did you meet your bride or groom?

We met and fell in love during our medical training to become Physician Assistants!

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?

We loved Danversport right from the start. Not only did we feel welcomed when we initially visited the venue, but follow-up emails were very responsive from the wedding planning staff.

We immediately loved the location right on the water. Since most of our guests were from out of town, it was great that we were able to have our ceremony and our reception all in one place. When we found out some of the chefs were Dominican, we were sold! Danversport and Chef Ramón worked with us to customize our menu to reflect our different backgrounds. And it was delicious.

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?

We had approximately 120 friends and family members on our wedding day.

What did you offer for food/drink catering?

We worked closely with the chef to design our menu. We offered churrasco with chimichurri sauce, a popular Latin American dish, and Atlantic Salmon. Our hors d’oeuvres included a lot of Latin American foods like bolas de yuca, chicken croquetas, mini empanadas, and much more.

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?

Our most magical moment was definitely the first time we saw each other at the ceremony when I was coming down the aisle and Wilton was waiting there for me. We were both overwhelmed with emotion, but so excited for what the future holds.

Did you have a wedding theme?

While we did not have a wedding theme we did decide to keep the colors simple and classic. The bridesmaids wore black dresses and the groomsmen wore black tuxes.

We are so thankful for the beautiful photos by Dearly Beloved Weddings from Lehigh Valley, PA.

What type of style was your dress?

My dress was a fitted Justin Alexander crepe dress with a very elaborate and beautiful train.

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?

We danced to Amor del Bueno by Reyli Barba

Who walked you down the aisle?

My dad walked me down the aisle.

What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?

We spent two weeks exploring and relaxing on the beach in Thailand for our honeymoon. It was an extremely long trip to get there, but well worth it.

We explored the city, spent some time on the beach, did a Thai cooking class, saw elephants, visited temples, made new friends, went rock climbing, and most importantly, relaxed together as newlyweds.

Happily Ever After

Sarina and Wilton met at school and continue to work in the same healthcare field. They are such a wonderful couple to have shared their special day with us. We wish them much love in the future and years of happiness to come.
