Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a sweet and fun-loving couple, Alyssa and Nick, who said their “I Dos” on a gorgeous June day at Danversport.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.
Alyssa & Nick
Wedding Date: June 26, 2021
Wedding Venue: We celebrated our wedding day with a waterfront ceremony followed by a reception in the Harborview Ballroom.
Where are you originally from? We are originally from Pelham, New Hampshire.
What do you do for work? I work for medical billing and Nick works for UPS.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
We were high school sweethearts! We have been together since February 14, 2013 and haven’t been apart since! Well technically, Nick was deployed for a year during the wedding planning process, but we were able to FaceTime at some points and he helped as much as he possibly could while overseas!

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
The moment we stepped into Danversport we knew it was meant to be. The Harborview Ballroom chandeliers and cathedral ceilings literally took our breath away. Add the elegance of the room to the sundeck and unreal waterfront view and Danversport was the obvious choice.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 150 guests in attendance.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
Danversport provided the absolute best wedding food I’ve ever had! Guests are still raving about how amazing the filet and mashed potatoes were! For specialty drinks we chose Malibu bay breeze & whiskey sour! They were a hit!
What was the most magical, moving or special part of the wedding for you?
The most magical part of the wedding day was just soaking in every moment. I was told over and over again how quickly the day goes by, so I consciously made sure to just stop and take it all in.
One special moment that stands out was the part of the ceremony where we were able to honor our mothers with roses. Thanking them for everything they’ve done for us throughout our lives and recognizing them in front of our loved ones was truly a moment I’ll never forget.
Finally, Nick & I were able to share moments alone after our photos were done and we were just like… “WE’RE REALLY MARRIED!” After almost 9 years.

Did you have a wedding theme?
Our theme was romantic elegance! I loved our neutral color palette and all of the greens, gold, champagne, and whites mixed into our beautiful day! My absolute favorite was my husband and groomsmen all black tuxes from Madeleine’s Daughter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They were so beyond handsome!
What type of style was your dress?
My dress was from the Caroline Castiiano – I Believe In Love Collection, “Amber.” The surprise twist was that there were pockets concealed in the side seams!
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
We danced to You Are The Reason – Calum Scott & Leona Lewis
Who walked you down the aisle?
My father, Thomas Paradis, walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! It was absolutely breathtaking and we enjoyed every minute to the fullest! We were blessed with the trip as a wedding gift from my “Aunt,” Pamela Kotarba and my husband’s parents, Jodi and Alfred Johnson!
Happily Ever After
After 9 years, these high school sweethearts decided to tie the knot here at Danversport. We could not be happier to help this couple and their family and friends celebrate this perfect day together. Congratulations and best wishes as you begin your new life together.
