Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a loving couple, Rachel and Justin, who said their “I Dos” on a picture perfect midsummer day in August at Danversport.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.
Rachel and Justin chose to have both their ceremony and reception at Danversport. They began their “big day” under the Gazebo along the picturesque waterfront where they said their vows surrounded by friends and family. They moved the party indoors for the reception in the room they first noticed in “The Knot” – the Terrace Ballroom.

Where are you originally from? Maine
What do you do for work?
I am a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) for children with autism.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
We met on Tinder (haha!). Who would’ve thought you could meet your future husband by swiping right!
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
The Knot had great reviews! Then when we went to go see it in person we both fell in love with the Terrace Ballroom as well as the outdoor setting!!
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly? We had about 80 guests.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
For cocktail hour, we had shrimp cocktails along with the deluxe hors d’oeuvres. We also offered a deluxe open bar, sangria station, and scotch bar!!
For dinner, we chose Prime rib and the scrumptious Seafood Trio. We didn’t have a wedding cake, but instead had strawberry cheesecake and strawberry mousse in martini glasses (Guests LOVED this!). All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing all the food was!!!
What was the most magical, moving or special part of the wedding for you?
Seeing all our dreams come to reality: from having all of our dream vendors to being surrounded by all of our loved ones for what really was the perfect day.

Did you have a wedding theme? Our theme was “Succulents and Gold.”
What type of style was your dress? My dress, from Madeleine’s Daughter, was a Strapless A Line.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance? All of Me, by John Legend
Who walked you down the aisle? Mom and Step Dad
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon? We are going to wait until it’s safer to travel!

Rachel and Justin celebrated their union with close family and friends in a beautiful setting overlooking the harbor at Danversport. We are so honored to have been able to work with such a loving and fun couple as they begin their life together. We hope to see them celebrate their anniversaries and many of life’s special milestones with us.
