Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a lovely couple, Monica and Zack, who said their vows on a crisp fall day in September of last year. They chose to celebrate both their ceremony and reception with us starting at the beautiful outdoor gazebo and moving indoors to the Harborview Ballroom with their 175 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.
Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

Wedding Date – September 10, 2022
Event Space – Our ceremony was outdoors at River’s Edge at Danversport and the space was absolutely beautiful. The waterfront made for a gorgeous backdrop. We used the equally gorgeous Harborview Ballroom for our reception.
Where are you originally from?
I’m originally from Massachusetts and Zach is originally from New Jersey.
What do you do for work?
I work in Public Relations and Zach is an accountant.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
We met in college via a mutual friend who was the matron of honor on our wedding day.
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
We were looking for a large venue in Massachusetts and loved that Danversport offered indoor/outdoor options for our cocktail hour and reception. We loved how flexible and accommodating the staff at Danversport was in customizing our day – everything from the room layout to our dinner menu.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 175 friends and family members on our wedding day.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
Our guests enjoyed a burrata and prosciutto salad, followed by their choice of short rib or chicken piccata. We closed out the night with four flavors of wedding cake, a cannoli bar, and late-night chicken fingers and fries!

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
The outdoor backdrop for the ceremony against the waterfront was so peaceful and really set the tone for the intimate and meaningful ceremony we were hoping for.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
Zach and I danced to a song called Spacecrafts which has been special to us throughout our relationship. We actually had a cover recorded of the song to slow it down a bit and make it feel more like a first dance!
What style was your dress?
I wore a draped off-the-shoulder gown for the ceremony followed by a fun, beaded dress for the reception and dancing!
Who walked you down the aisle?
My parents walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We enjoyed a relaxing mini-moon in Vermont immediately following the wedding and took a trip to Mexico in November.
Happily Ever After
Congratulations to Monica and Zack! This lovely couple shared a beautiful fall day with family and friends along the waterfront celebrating their love. We wish this special couple a lifetime of happiness together.
