Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a wonderful couple, Madison and Evan, who said their vows on a beautiful day in May this year. They chose to celebrate both their ceremony at the gazebo and reception with us in the stunning Harborview Ballroom with their 200 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.
Responses have been edited for length and clarity.
Madison and Evan
Wedding Date – May 2023
Event Space – We held our ceremony outdoors at the gazebo and the reception was in the Harborview Ballroom.
Where are you originally from?
I’m from Stoneham, Massachusetts and Evan is from Brewer, Maine.
What do you do for work?
Right now, we both are working at the bar that Evan owns.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
Evan and I are both professional bowlers, and he asked me to hold a tournament with him.
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
Danversport was the first venue we visited. My dad said, “This is a one-stop shop.” We of course had to go look at some other places. Originally, we did choose another venue but our wedding date had no availability. We chose to hold off and be engaged for a while. That was until we went to the bridal expo at Danversport and realized this venue is a no-brainer. We had a date picked two days later!
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 200 friends and family attend our big day!
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
We served Tuscan chicken and filet mignon.
What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
Honoring our loved ones that had passed away was the most moving part of our wedding.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
We danced to “Beauty and The Beast” by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
What style was your dress?
My dress was an A-line, strapless, with a long train.
Who walked you down the aisle?
My dad walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
Our plan was to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but we just purchased a house in Florida, so Hawaii will have to wait until another time.
Happily Ever After
Congratulations to Madison and Evan on their special day. We are so happy we could be a part of your ceremony and reception. Best of luck as you create a new home in Florida. We wish them much happiness as they begin their life together!
