Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a wonderful couple, Jacquelyn and Steven, who said their vows in March 2024. They chose to celebrate their reception and ceremony in the Harborview Ballroom with their 228 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Wedding Date – March 2024
Event Space – We had our ceremony and reception in the beautiful Harborview Ballroom and took our pictures on the grounds of Danversport.
Where are you originally from?
I am from Medford, Massachusetts.
What do you do for work?
I am an office manager for three medical practices.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
Steven was my best friend first.
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
I absolutely love this venue! I love the openness of the dance floor and the chandeliers. The wrap-around deck is an incredible touch. I want to give a huge shout-out to the people working at Danversport as they were incredible and made this experience as painless as possible for me. The food was awesome! All of our guests enjoyed all of our hors d’oeuvres and main course.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had approximately 228 of our family and friends at our wedding reception and ceremony.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
We offered passed hors d’oeuvres – arancini, cheeses, flatbread, and mushroom caps. For our main course, we did the prime rib and chicken piccata. We had 4.5 hours of open bar and because Danversport is so great they let me do an “espresso martini” for his signature drink and a Paloma for mine.
What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
The ceremony was truly stunning, with all the gold chairs set up and the white backdrop it was truly a dream once the florist came and did her part.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
Our first dance song was Yours by Russell Dickerson.
What style was your dress?
My dress was a fitted mermaid style.
Who walked you down the aisle?
My dad walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We are headed to Greece in September for our honeymoon.
