The “I Do” Interview: Meet Corey & Alexander

Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a beautiful couple, Corey and Alexander, who said their vows on a lovely summer day in July of last year. They chose to celebrate their ceremony at the pergola and reception with us in the Terrace Ballroom and Waterfront Room with their 126 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.

This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

Wedding Date – July 2024

Event Space – We had our ceremony at the Pergola and then used the Terrace Ballroom and Waterfront Room for our reception.

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Raynham on the South Shore of Massachusetts and my husband Alex is from Simsbury, Connecticut

What do you do for work?

I am a Pediatric Physician Assistant in Rhode Island. Alex is a repair Engineer for GE Aerospace.

How did you meet your bride or groom?

We met online through Match. Our first “match” was with each other and the rest is history!

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?

The entire venue is absolutely stunning! I love the ocean backdrop and had always dreamed of a waterfront wedding. We fell in love with the grounds at Danversport the moment we stepped onto the property. All of the ceremony sites are truly stunning but we loved the path leading up to the Pergola and the backdrop of the marina.

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?

We had approximately 126 of our family and friends at our wedding reception and ceremony.

did you offer for food/drink catering?

Everyone has been raving about the food at our wedding.

For starters, we offered The Signature hors d’oeuvres package, Italian wedding soup and Caesar salad. For our main meal, we offered a choice of Tuscan chicken, Filet mignon, or a vegetarian option. For dessert, we offered a marble and red velvet cake with an ice cream bon bon. For late-night snacks, we offered cheeseburger sliders.

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?

We have to choose just one? The entire wedding was magical. From our ceremony where we said our own vows, to our first dance, to dancing the night away with our loved ones, everything was incredible.

The most special moment was walking down the aisle and seeing my soon-to-be husband for the first time. We chose not to do a first look and save the moment we first saw each other for the aisle. I had pictured walking down the winding path leading up to the pergola for the 2 years leading up to our wedding. Seeing my soon-to-be husband so emotional and so in love was everything. I could relive that moment forever. It was absolutely perfect.

What was your wedding theme?

Our wedding theme was beach/waterfront inspired. We had white-washed boxes for our centerpieces and white-washed frames for our table numbers and signs. Our flowers matched the theme with light blue and white hydrangeas, white roses and eucalyptus. We also had starfish and sand dollars along with lanterns and candles to tie together the beach/waterfront-inspired theme.

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?

We danced to Thank God by Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown.

What style was your dress?

I wore an A-line strapless dress with lace and beading. It was the first dress I tried on and I fell immediately in love.

Who walked you down the aisle?

My father walked me down the aisle.

What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?

We went to Barbados for our honeymoon. The trip was truly magical.

Happily Ever After

Congratulations to Corey and Alexander as they begin their life’s journey together. We are so happy that we were able to be a part of your special day. We wish them much happiness as they begin their life together!
