“I Do” Interview: Meet Our September Bride, Sarah

Welcome to the latest installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our series features a lovely couple, Sarah and Trevor, who held their micro wedding under our gazebo in mid-August. Due to COVID-19, they wanted to have fun in a beautiful setting that would allow for the safety of their small group of guests. We were happy to deliver all of this for their special day.

This bridal interview series is meant to give future brides a chance to hear the wonderful details of bridal experiences from those who have recently been there. Our beautiful brides have agreed to share their stories so others can learn about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.

Wedding Date: August 15, 2020

EVENT SPACE USED: We used the space near the Gazebo and the outdoor tented area.

WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM? I am originally from Dracut, MA and my husband, Trevor, is from Merrimack, NH.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR WORK? I am a school counselor at a high school. Trevor is a civil engineer for a construction company.

HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR PARTNER? We went to high school together, but didn’t really know each other then. We reconnected through mutual friends after college.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE DANVERSPORT AND THE BALLROOM SPECIFICALLY?

We chose Danversport because our original wedding date had to be postponed due to COVID 19, but we didn’t want to put off getting married. We wanted to be as safe as possible so we wanted everything to be outdoors. Danversport has a beautiful outdoor option and was so easy to work with on short notice. We went to Danversport to look at the venue in mid July 2020 and booked for August 15th 2020!

HOW MANY GUESTS WERE IN ATTENDANCE ROUGHLY? Due to COVID 19, we wanted to be as safe as possible so we had a small wedding with only our immediate families and our wedding party, about 25 people.

WHAT WAS YOUR MENU CHOICE? We chose the passed appetizers and cheese station along with the french onion soup, caesar salad, an option of Statler Chicken or Baked Haddock, and had cheesecake for dessert! All the food was absolutely delicious!

WHAT WAS THE MOST MAGICAL MOMENT OF THE WEDDING FOR YOU? I think the most magical part of our wedding was our “first look.” We were both so nervous and the moment that Trevor turned around, I immediately relaxed and it was all fun from there!

DID YOU HAVE A WEDDING THEME OR WEDDING COORDINATOR? We didn’t have a wedding coordinator but the staff at Danversport were so helpful that we didn’t need one! I have to mention how wonderful our photographers were, Newbury Photographs. They kept us stress free and made sure we got the pictures we wanted. In addition, the Boston Beauty Network, did my hair and makeup and made the morning of the wedding so fun and special! They also did the best job and I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and make up. I am also really lucky to have a best friend, Leia of @lettersbyleia on Instagram, who does wedding signage and decorations. She did all my signs and decorations and it couldn’t have come out more beautiful!

WHAT STYLE WAS YOUR DRESS? I’d say my dress was very traditional and classic. Lots of lace, sweetheart neckline, and a long train.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG CHOICE? We danced to Stephen Kellogg’s Love of My Life.

WHO WALKED YOU DOWN THE AISLE? My Dad walked me down the aisle.

WHAT WERE YOUR PLANS FOR A HONEYMOON?  Due to COVID, we had a little mini moon in Greenport, NY. We spent time shopping, eating delicious food, went to a winery, and the beach!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Sarah and Trevor had the most amazing fairytale ending in the form of a picture-perfect waterfront wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. Things around the world may look a little different these days, but their wedding was special and unique, just as they are. We look forward to hearing about their adventures as they start this new adventure as a married couple.
