Danversport The “I Do” Interview: Meet Cara & Michael

Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month our wedding series features a wonderful couple, Cara and Michael, who said their vows in June 2024. They celebrated their ceremony outdoors at the Lawn and held their reception in the Harborview Ballroom with their 210 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.

This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.

We met at a Halloween party in college.

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?

As soon as we arrived at Danversport we knew it was for us. We love the location by the water, and it gave us that while also having the elegant ballroom that felt like a more formal wedding.

We had approximately 210 family and friends at our waterfront wedding.

We offered our guests the Tuscan chicken or the prime rib. We also had an open bar. My signature drink “The Bubbly Bride” was Prosecco with a splash of grapefruit juice. His signature drink was appropriate for his profession as it was “Fire Engine Red.” It was Stoli Ohranj and sprite with a splash of cranberry juice. We also offered a signature mocktail “Sweet Love Lemonade” which was lemonade with blueberry puree and fresh blueberries with a splash of soda water.

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?

It’s so hard to pick the most magical moment. The entire day was truly perfect and we couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out!

Our first dance song was Growing Old with You by Restless Road.

My dress was a fit-and-flare dress, with a lace top.
