Welcome to this month’s installment of the “I Do” Interviews! This month, our wedding series features a beautiful couple, Abigail and Daniel, who said their vows on a perfect summer day in June 2025. They chose to celebrate their ceremony on the lawn and reception with us in the Harborview Ballroom, surrounded by 165 family members and friends, who all shared in their joy.
This interview series is designed to allow future couples to hear about the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been through them. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories, allowing others to learn about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.

Event Space – We held our ceremony on the lawn at Danversport and the reception in the Harborview Ballroom overlooking the water.
Where are you originally from?
We are originally from Holden, Massachusetts.
What do you do for work?
I am a Speech Language Pathologist.
How did you meet your bride or groom?
Dan and I met in middle school and grew up together in the same town.
What made you choose Danversport, and this venue/room specifically?
We chose Danversport for its breathtaking ocean view, which was important to both me and my partner. The sailboats drifting by and the glowing sunset created a sense of presence and meaning that made the day feel truly special.
From the very start, the warmth and care of the staff and our wedding coordinator, Lauren, made us feel like we were surrounded by family, adding to the magic of the celebration. We also fell in love with the elegant ballroom and its stunning views, creating the perfect backdrop for our ceremony.
How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?
We had 165 friends and family at our wedding.
What did you offer for food/drink catering?
We offered a choice of the Chicken Picatta and Filet Mignon. Our signature drink was “the Koda,” an Aperol Spritz, which was named after our Golden Retriever. Danversport offers an amazing menu including a wide variety of starters, salads, entrees, wedding cakes and desserts. They also offer tea, coffee and warm bread for all our guests.
What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?
There were many magical moments throughout the day. Some of our favorites included our dances with our parents, seeing each other for the first time down the aisle, and having the bride’s sisters and bridesmaids dress in something white and blue. It looked spectacular.
What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
Our first dance was “Wondering Why” by the Red Clay Strays
What style was your dress?
My dress was a classic ballgown.
Did you have a wedding theme?
Our wedding theme was coastal blues and whites as can be seen in the attire and decor.
Who walked you down the aisle?
My father walked me down the aisle.
What are/were your plans for your honeymoon?
We spent our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic.
