Welcome to this month\u2019s installment of the \u201cI Do\u201d Interviews! This month our wedding series features a lovely couple, Ashley and Stephen, who said their vows on a beautiful day in June this year. They chose to celebrate both their ceremony at the Patio and reception with us in the Lighthouse Point Ballroom with their 50 family members and friends who all shared in their joy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful details of wedding experiences from those who have recently been there. Our lovely couples have agreed to share their stories so others can learn everything about their one-of-a-kind wedding and the planning process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responses have been edited for length and clarity.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Wedding Date<\/b> – June 2023\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Event Space<\/b> – We held our ceremony outdoors on the Patio and the reception was in the Lighthouse Point Ballroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are you originally from? <\/b><\/p>\n

I am from Peabody, Massachusetts and my wife is from Walpole, New Hampshire. <\/span><\/p>\n

What do you do for work?<\/b><\/p>\n

I am a Civil Engineer and Ashley is a QA Specialist.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you meet your bride or groom?<\/b><\/p>\n

We met on an online dating website during the pandemic. We had our first date getting ice cream in Springfield.<\/span><\/p>\n

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue\/room specifically?<\/b><\/p>\n

I have several family members who work\/worked at Danversport and I worked there myself as a teenager. It was nice to be on the other side of the function for once! We picked Lighthouse Point since it was a nice cozy room for our small wedding.<\/span><\/p>\n

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?<\/b><\/p>\n

We had approximately 50 friends and family attend our big day!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What did you offer for food\/drink catering?<\/b><\/p>\n

For appetizers, we went with the Classic Hors D’oeuvres followed by Penne with Marinara sauce. Dinner was Braised Short Ribs and Chicken Piccata, cooked exactly how we wanted it. We finished the night off with a vanilla cake and ice cream bon bons.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?<\/b><\/p>\n

Our first dance was the most magical part of the day. Our DJ announced us into the reception hall as newlyweds and we immediately jumped to our first dance. We’d spent a few weeks picking out the perfect song and practicing our steps. Even if we’re still not great dancers, I’ll never forget looking into my wife’s eyes as we were surrounded by our friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?<\/b><\/p>\n

We danced to Dearly Beloved II, from the game Kingdom Hearts, a very special game from Ashley’s childhood.<\/span><\/p>\n

What style was your dress?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Ashley wore a ballgown dress with a sweetheart neckline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who walked you down the aisle?<\/b><\/p>\n

I walked down myself, and Ashley was walked down the aisle by her father, Tom.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are\/were your plans for your honeymoon?<\/b><\/p>\n

We spent a week in Aruba, lounging on the beach and seeing the iguanas.<\/span><\/p>\n
