Welcome to the latest installment of the \u201cI Do\u201d Interviews! This month our series features Elexis & Matthew, a wonderful couple who held their micro wedding or as they called it, their <\/span>Covid Minimony<\/span><\/i> with us this past fall. Their original plans were to hold their reception in our Harborview Ballroom on January 2, 2021, but they decided to push up their date to the fall in order to celebrate safely with family and a few friends.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This wedding interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful experiences from those who have recently been there. Our couples have agreed to share their stories so others can hear about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"I<\/b><\/p>\n

Date of the Wedding: <\/b>October 11. 2020<\/span><\/p>\n

Wedding Event Space Used: <\/b>Lighthouse Point with a ceremony at the Pergola<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are you originally from? <\/b>Matthew is from Revere. Elexis is from Everett.\u00a0 We moved to our house in Saugus after we got married!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you do for work? <\/b>Matt is a plasterer at his father’s business, MJM Plastering. He is a foreman while Elexis is a Registered Nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you initially meet?<\/b><\/p>\n

Our story dates back to 2014. We matched on Bumble and would talk on-line. It was August 2017 when Matthew and I finally went on our first date! Thanks to Snapchat, Bumble, and our parents, we met at Tony C’s in Somerville. Our parents grew up together and would tease both of us that we would get married one day. Here we are in 2020- MARRIED!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Elexis<\/b><\/p>\n

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue\/room specifically?<\/b><\/p>\n

Danversport has always been a special place for the both of us. Many events on both sides of our family have been held at Danversport. The food is always delicious! The staff is amazing and knowledgeable. We feel as though we are family with the staff at Danversport by how calming, helpful, and fun everyone is! It was a no brainer for us to have our wedding day there. And we are SO happy we did! It was the most amazing day!<\/span><\/p>\n

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly? <\/b>We had about 46 guests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What did you offer for food\/drink catering?<\/b><\/p>\n

Penne Pasta and Bolognese (Italian hit)<\/span><\/p>\n

Caesar Salad\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Walnut Crusted Chicken or Filet\/Seafood trio (Filet was a HIT- Matt & Elexis\u2019 favorite)<\/span><\/p>\n

Wedding cake with Cappuccino or Espresso Station\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Signature cocktails that were the best,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elexis’s Signature cocktail – Limoncello Martini – it was the best one I ever had!<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew’s Signature Cocktail- Margarita – Which was a hit as well!<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the most magical, moving or special part of the wedding for you?<\/b><\/p>\n

The most magical and special part of our wedding was when I walked down the aisle. Matthew and I did not do a first look. It was very moving to walk down the aisle to surprise my groom! It was a beautiful, sunny day along the Pergola. It was a gorgeous view. We absolutely love our outdoor pictures and so glad we exchanged vows outside, along the water.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What type of style was your dress?<\/b><\/p>\n

My wedding dress was an off the shoulder, heavy crepe dress with Swarovski crystal buttons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The designer was Kelly Faetinini. It is my favorite dress in the world!<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?<\/b><\/p>\n

Yours (Wedding Edition) by Russell Dickerson<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who walked you down the aisle?<\/b><\/p>\n

My Mother and Father\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What were your plans for your honeymoon?<\/b><\/p>\n

Due to COVID we had to cancel our Hawaii honeymoon. We spent 2 nights in Boston at the Custom House. It was great as we got to go to the Aquarium and eat in the North End!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Final Word from the Bride and Groom:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The staff at Danversport went above and beyond more than we could have ever imagined. Our wedding day was supposed to be in the Ballroom on January 2, 2021. Due to COVID, we decided to push the date up to a time that we could still have our closest family & friends be with us safely in celebration. Danversport made sure our Covid Minimony was all that we hoped for- and it was & so much more! Thank you to all the fabulous & amazing staff at Danversport! We love you! Can’t wait to work with you more in the future!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
