Welcome to the latest installment of the \u201cI Do\u201d Interviews! This month our series features Brice and Sean, a wonderful couple who held their micro wedding with us in September. Their original plans may not have panned out due to the global health crisis, but we were excited to help plan a beautiful, intimate wedding of their dreams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This wedding interview series is meant to give future couples a chance to hear the wonderful experiences from those who have recently been there. Our couples have agreed to share their stories so others can hear about everything from their one-of-a-kind wedding, to their incredible partner, at a picture-perfect venue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wedding Date: <\/b>September 3, 2020\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What event space did you choose? <\/b>Brice and Sean enjoyed a wedding on our deck under the cabanas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are you originally from?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Sean Thomas Stutzman is originally from the Bay Area (California) and Brice M. Campoverdi is originally from Haverhill, Massachusetts. Sean has been living in San Francisco since 2005 and Brice has been living there since 2003. Both have been living on the same street, a block away from each other, in the same neighborhood for 15 years, but only met 2.5 years ago through a dating app.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b><\/p>\n

What do you do for work?<\/b><\/p>\n

Sean is an accountant for a non-profit in San Francisco and Brice is a high school counselor in San Francisco.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you meet?<\/b><\/p>\n

We met through a dating app (Tinder) and met up at a neighborhood bar to meet. Sean then asked me for our first official date for that Friday and we went to an over 21+ arcade and then went roller skating.<\/span><\/p>\n

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue\/room specifically?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christmas day is Sean\u2019s birthday, and it\u2019s the day we got engaged! Pre-pandemic we had planned to get married at our local church, St. Ignatius in SF and have our reception at the Marines\u2019 Memorial Hotel & Club, as Sean served in the Marines.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the pandemic continued, we finally decided in June to postpone our date to 2021. We knew we still wanted to get married on \u201cour date\u201d in 2020, but imagined it would just be at San Francisco City Hall. As the closures continued, we both were told that we would continue to be virtual from work through the end of the year. We decided to travel to Boston, MA, where Brice\u2019s family is from and have a small intimate ceremony with parents and siblings. Sean\u2019s family flew in from California and Idaho, where they got tested within 72 hours to follow Massachusetts new travel orders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Danversport gave us the flexibility to have a socially distant ceremony and reception at a reasonable price. Since we were not able to see the venue, Brice\u2019s dad and sister went to see it prior to signing the contract. Lauren was SO SWEET and kind in answering all our questions we didn\u2019t even know we had until we got here and finally got to see the place in August, less than a month before the wedding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How many guests did you have in attendance roughly?<\/b><\/p>\n

We had 14 guests – parents and siblings and Brice\u2019s cousin was the Officiant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What did you offer for food\/drink catering?<\/b><\/p>\n

We wanted it to be a very New England menu, as there were people traveling from the west coast who have never been to Boston. So we offered Clam Chowder, Caesar Salad and Apple Crisp Cobbler. Instead of a cake we did Apple Cider Donuts. These were the three dinner options:<\/span><\/p>\n

Filet Mignon served with herb roasted fingerling potatoes and seasonal vegetables -OR-<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Filet Mignon and Seafood Trio -OR- Lobster Danversport.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

What was the most magical, moving or special part of the wedding for you?<\/b><\/p>\n

Brice: For me, I felt the most moving part was walking down the aisle with both my mom and dad to my future husband and my sister as the maid-of-honor. Being surrounded by our closest support system during a time when everything is so unpredictable was magical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sean: For me, it was our first dance. When the sun was setting behind us, and the sky was beautiful, we were able to let all of our worries go and just enjoy our time as husband and wife.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b><\/p>\n

Did you have a wedding theme?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think we had a wedding theme, but we tried to coordinate it with the venue and New England, as we had lighthouse lanterns on the tables, and my godchildren painted lighthouse Christmas ornaments as our favors. They were ornaments because we got engaged on Christmas day. We also had images of Sean and I in San Francisco, our neighborhood bar where we met, and some symbols of his time serving in the Marines. Our cake topper was an image of me in my dress, wearing a pearl necklace he had given me on our first anniversary and him in his Marine dress blues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What type of style was your dress?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My dress was a simple Ivory satin off the shoulder with pockets! I flew to Boston in February for my sister\u2019s baby shower and was able to purchase my dress that weekend in Danvers, MA. I had the dress shipped to my work in San Francisco, but then my building was closed because of the shelter-in-place order. My dress was lost in the mail and it was eventually sent back to Danvers before eventually making its way back to California in July.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After trying it on, I realized I wanted to wear it for the small ceremony and ended up putting it in a carryon bag and carrying it on the plane cross country to wear at Danversport! Had I known six months ago I would end up getting married in Danvers I would have just kept the dress out here!<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Old Fashioned by CeeLo Green<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Who walked you down the aisle?<\/b><\/p>\n

My mami (mom) and papi (dad)!<\/span><\/p>\n

What are\/were your plans for your honeymoon?<\/b><\/p>\n

We had booked flights to Hawaii. Instead, my\u00a0 friend from college let us borrow her vacation home in Stowe, Vermont and we spent a week enjoying the beautiful fall scenery of Vermont, eating great food, and drinking at their craft breweries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Happily Ever After –\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

A postponed wedding due to the pandemic and three thousand miles couldn\u2019t keep this couple from tying the knot on their original wedding day. Through hard work and a love that will last a lifetime this couple will have some amazing memories from their mini wedding at Danversport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
