Welcome to the \u201cI Do\u201d Interviews! This is a series of Bridal Interviews that features a new bride each month. But not just any bride, a bride who has said \u201cI Do\u201d at Danversport Yacht Club, and is now living her happily ever after.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Ashley Raynes: Now Ashley Doherty<\/h2>\n

Married: <\/b>July of 2018<\/span><\/h3>\n

Wedding Venue:\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0The Harborview Ballroom & Sun Deck<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n

Where are you from?<\/b>
\n<\/b>I am from Salem, Massachusetts.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you meet your bride or groom?<\/b>
\n<\/b>I met Patrick while working for his dad at a law firm when I was in college. He worked there as well! <\/span><\/p>\n

What made you choose Danversport, and this venue\/room specifically?<\/b>
\n<\/b>Patrick\u2019s mother is 1 of 11 and his father is 1 of 6, so we needed a venue that could accommodate a larger guest list. We also didn\u2019t want to pick a place where our guest number would be the max because we feared it would feel too cramped. My mom and I went to look at Danversport and when I walked into The Harborview Ballroom & Sun Deck, I got instant butterflies in my stomach. Michael Buble was playing in the background and my wedding dreams started to unfold before me. We were both blown away by the recent renovations. The staff was so kind right from the beginning, so it was an easy choice. I brought Patrick back that night and I signed a contract the next day! <\/span><\/p>\n

How many guests did you have in attendance, roughly?<\/b>
\n<\/b>We had about 240 guests. <\/span><\/p>\n

What did you offer for food\/drink\/catering?<\/b>
\n<\/b>Cocktail hour was filled with lots of yummy choices. Our dinner choices were prime rib or Statler chicken. Our guests were greeted with champagne and we had an open bar all night.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was the most magical, moving, or special part of the wedding for you?<\/b>
\n<\/b>The most magical part of our wedding was sitting at the sweetheart table eating our first meal as husband and wife. We had the best view of all of our beautiful guests and the ballroom and I couldn\u2019t believe I wasn\u2019t dreaming. I was sitting next to my husband and surrounded by everyone I love. It was a surreal feeling and I\u2019ll always remember it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Did you have a wedding theme or wedding coordinator?<\/b>
\n<\/b>My family\/bridesmaids all were so active in helping me plan our wedding, I was really fortunate. Our theme was romantic with soft colors. I wanted to pick things that would be timeless and to prevent looking back on our pictures and regretting choosing something because it was a trend. Danversport also makes it so easy to plan and were always so patient with me when I called with any questions!<\/span><\/p>\n

What type of style was your wedding dress?<\/b>
\n<\/b>An A-line style made of lace. <\/span><\/p>\n

What was the song you danced to for your first dance?
\n<\/b>Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran<\/span><\/p>\n

Who walked you down the aisle?
\n<\/b>Unfortunately, my beloved dad past away before we were married. My second dad (stepdad) Robert St. Pierre walked me down the aisle. <\/span><\/p>\n

What are\/were your plans for your honeymoon?
\n<\/b>We left the Monday after our wedding and headed to a Sandals resort in St. Lucia. On our way back from St. Lucia we stayed at the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World for three days to continue celebrating. (I love Disney!)<\/span><\/p>\n
