Danversport Thanksgiving Buffet – November 23, 2017

The holiday season is fast approaching, and it all starts with Thanksgiving. If you’re looking to have a nice Thanksgiving meal this year without having to worry about all the prep work and clean up, Danversport Yacht Club has got you covered. Join Danversport on Thursday, November 23 from 12-5 pm for our annual Thanksgiving buffet. Bring friends and family for a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving meal, consisting of butternut squash, stuffing, and turkey. The meal will be served buffet-style in both our Harborview Ballroom and our garden level.

Don’t feel ashamed for opting to go out for a Thanksgiving meal this year. Many restaurants and venues are open on Thanksgiving for a reason: people don’t want to clean and cook and clean again! And who can ever finish all those leftovers anyway? Let us alleviate some of the burden by hosting your family this year. The holiday season is already stressful enough, you deserve a break. Our chefs will prepare a delicious meal, and the best part is that there’s no cleanup for you to worry about.

Will you be travelling or otherwise unable to make it to a Thanksgiving meal with family this year? If you’re in the area – the North Shore of Massachusetts – come to Danversport Yacht Club for a delicious home cooked meal.

Or maybe you just want to try something different this time ‘round. You’re not obligated to hold Thanksgiving at your house every year, and maybe you’re in need of a break. And that’s okay.

Whatever the case may be, Danversport Yacht Club is happy to serve you this Thanksgiving. For more information, visit the Danversport Yacht Club Thanksgiving page. For reservations, call the Events office at (978) 774-8622. From our family to yours, we wish you all the best this holiday season.

Personalize Your Event With A Signature Drink

Signature drinks are the perfect way to add a personalized detail to your event with minimal effort and low cost.

Assuming we have the ingredients, all you need to do is provide the sign!

We’ve had some really spectacular signature cocktails in the past. However, one of our favorites was a His and Hers signature drink combination.

“The Mrs.” was a unique twist on a classic cosmopolitan. The bride decided to serve up her favorite cocktail with raspberry vodka for a fruiter flavor. Meanwhile, her groom went straight for the chocolate! “The Mr.” combined vodka, chocolate liquor, cream de cacao and half & half for the perfect after dinner drink! His & Hers Drinks

If you don’t have the time or energy to create your own recipe then come up with a fun and meaningful name for our signature sangria!

This sangria station is part of our open bar package. When you choose an open bar with Danversport you have the option of welcoming your guests with champagne or sangria.

If you order the sangria and type up a signature drink sign, we’ll put it on your station. You’ll have an impressive signature drink display and all you had to do was provide the signage!

Signature drinks are a fun, inexpensive and easy detail to add to your event. So, cozy up to the bar and start creating a cocktail for your next celebration!

Behind The Danversport Menu

Behind every delicious menu is a talented chef who is carefully preparing each dish. Here at Danversport we’re lucky enough to have six chefs working in our kitchen. They all take great pride in the cuisine that they create and are constantly working to keep our menu fresh and innovative.

Just last year we updated all of our hors d’oeuvre options!Hors D'oeuvres

However, there are fan favorites (like the Mediterranean Chicken) that our chefs would never touch. Mediterranean Chicken

Our kitchen makes this delectable meal with sundried tomato mascarpone ravioli, artichokes, olives, capers, roasted peppers and a lemon white wine sauce. Chef Tom Rafferty says it’s both the flavor and color that make this dish so popular.

If you’re someone who appreciates beautiful color and presentation, then you’ll love the lobster plate that Chef Ramon Espinal created especially for our clients.  Lobster Danversport

We call this the Lobster Danversport and it’s a show stopper!

These are just two of the outstanding meals that our kitchen has mastered over the years. There are so many enticing dishes on our menu that sometimes it’s hard for our clients to choose just one.

Chef Ernie Serino says, if you’re a seafood lover and can’t decide on just one item then go with the Seafood Trio and enjoy our shrimp, haddock and scallops covered with a buttery crumb topping. Seafood Trio

That being said, if you’re looking for something that’s not on our menu then let us know! Our chefs are more than happy to make a special order just for you.

Not too long ago, we had a groom who wanted chicken parmesan at his wedding so that’s exactly what our kitchen made him. We did that because behind the menu and in our kitchen there are six chefs who are ready to make your culinary vision come to life! Personalized service from people who truly care, that is what Danversport is all about!

A Look At The Different Styles of Food Service

Two of the most important elements for any event are food and service. So, to help you choose the right service for your event we’re sharing information about each of your options.

The plated, sit down meal is by far the most popular style of food service for an elegant affair. Each dish is perfectly prepared and portioned separately for every guest. This allows for the chef to put an extra emphasis on the presentation of the meal.

Once the meals are plated, the servers on staff deliver these beautiful dishes directly to each guest.  The presentation and personalized service of a plated meal make it the most formal style of service and the most common option for wedding receptions.

However, if you are planning a more casual event, then a buffet might be the right option for you.

One of the best things about a buffet is that it’s endless. That means your guests will never go hungry as they can return to the buffet line multiple times throughout the dinner.

In addition to being able to go up for seconds, your guests will love choosing what protein, vegetable and carbohydrate make it onto their plate.

Finally, buffets are a great option if you want to offer your guests a choice of protein but you don’t want to deal with the stress of tracking who is having what before the event takes place.

Food stations are another style of service that give you that same advantage. Stations are similar to buffets in that your guests get up from their tables to fill their plates. However, instead of having the food lined up on one long table, food stations are set throughout the room. By separating the different meal options guests can spread out rather than wait in a long line for the buffet.

Your final food service option is a mixture between the plated meal service and the buffet. It is what we call family style. In family style service, your guests are served at their tables (like the plated meal). However, instead of getting individual plates tables are served platters of food. The guests then serve themselves right at their own table. Once a platter is empty, tables can request a refill making the meal endless (like a buffet). Family style service is great because you get the delivery service of a plated meal combined with the all you can eat aspect of a buffet.

Needless to say, you can’t go wrong with any of these food service options. There are great things about each of them. It just depends on what’s most important to you and what experience you want to give the guests at your event.

Host An Event Every Season At Danversport

Our favorite part about living in New England is that we can experience and enjoy each of the four seasons. Here at Danversport we host events all year round. We truly embrace each season so there is a reason to host an event any month of the year.

It goes without saying that the views at Danversport are always breathtaking. Even in the winter, our waterside gazebo looks beautiful covered in snow.

Now imagine viewing this picturesque scene from a window in our event space. During the winter months, we warm up each room with traditional holiday décor creating the perfect ambiance for a festive night of fun!

That being said, maybe you want to host an event when it starts to get a little warmer. The spring time here at Danversport is exciting! That’s when our outdoor space really starts to come alive.

Each change signifying that we made it through another New England winter and the summer sun is on its way!

Due to our ideal waterfront location, I am sure it is no surprise that the summer months are our busiest! Each room inside our property has its own outdoor patio space so you and your guests can enjoy the warm air and scenic views. In addition to that we have a fabulous tent pavilion right next to the water. It is the perfect setting for anyone who wants to host their event entirely outdoors!

But it’s not just our location that makes us so popular our clients also love our farm to table menu that changes with each season.

Take our salads for example: In the summer we serve a Strawberry Salad made with romaine lettuce, fresh sliced strawberries, red onion and poppy seed dressing. While in the fall, our chef replaces the Strawberry Salad for the equally delicious Autumn Salad. The Autumn Salad is made with mixed greens, dried cranberries, walnuts and maple balsamic dressing.

Our fall menu is always popular as we offer all of the seasonal favorites. From apple garnished sangria to fresh butternut squash (which we pick from our own garden!) our chef serves up the traditional taste of fall.

Needless to say, thanks to our ever changing menu and stunning views, there is always a good reason to plan your event here at Danversport!

We look forward to hosting you soon!
